Voxel Drums
In the heart of downtown Akron, Ohio, the art and design studio of //benitez_vogl asked themselves, what if drum shells, traditionally flat surfaced, could be designed as 3D sculptural works of art? This spark of innovation ignited a journey that would merge cutting-edge technology with musical craftsmanship and the potential to transform the world of percussion.
Using digital fabrication tools, we began crafting shells that defied convention. No longer confined to flat surfaces, the drums boast intricate textures and complex geometries. Each drum is a unique sculpture, its surface alive with patterns and convexities that had not been seen before.
